The Man of Steel Prequel Comic is a limited edition official tie-in comic to the 2013 film Man of Steel. It was written by David S. Goyer, Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder.
Plot
The comic begins with Kara Zor-El training in the Kryptonian jungle where they are retrieving beacons. Dev-Em one of the candidates murders Kell-Ur, Kara's friend/love interest, and then fights Kara who manages to subdue Dev-Em who is arrested. He is sentenced to death by the ruling council.
Kara is chosen to participate and goes into one of the scout ships where she goes into hibernation. She awakens to find all of the other pods empty. She then finds Dev-Em aboard who has changed the ships course and battles with him where they both experience their body's changing and an huge increase in strength which courses the ship to crash into Ellesmere Island on the planet Earth.
In present day, a signal under shelves millenia old is picked up by the United States military. It cuts to Clark Kent working on a fishing boat off the Alaskan coast.
