Dr. Van Criss was a scientist working for Wayne Enterprises and an ally of ARGUS, known to have been the one to create the nano-bombs that Amanda Waller would implant into the Suicide Squad members. He was, however, later apprehended and tortured by the Joker (who held his wife hostage), forced to help the latter free Harley Quinn, but was himself killed in the process.
