Origins and Early YearsEdit
The Law Council was formed thousands of years ago to preside over the citizens of Krypton and put laws into action. At some point, the Council banned cross-breeding after numerous attempts resulted in the creation of "Bertron's Curse".
The Final DaysEdit
Scientist Jor-El discovered that the planet's core had become unstable after years of industrial mining and conided in his childhood friend Dru-Zod, who also dreamed of saving the planet from imminent destruction. Whereas Jor-El put his faith in science, however, Zod believed force was the only way to ensure Krypton's survival. He established the Sword of Rao in secret and planned to initiate a coup that would sever the "degenerate bloodlines."
In the days prior to Krypton's destruction, Jor-El met with the Council in an attempt to gain control of the Growth Codex. Before he could do so, Zod stormed the Legislation Chamber and killed High Eminence Ro-Zar before announcing that the Council had been disbanded.
When Jor-El refused to help start anew, Zod ordered his men to take him away while his second-in-command, Faora, took the remaining council members into custody.
Following the Battle of Krypton, the surviving council members were released, Lor-Em replacing the late Ro-Zar as High Eminence. The Council was present when Zod and his followers were sentenced to 300 cycles of "somatic reconditioning" for their crimes.
Shortly afterwards, the members of the Council perished when Krypton's core imploded and the planet was destroyed.
