Template:Object The Power Ring is a device worn by members of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic peacekeeping force, that allows its wielder to tap into their willpower, an energy field tied directly to their emotions.
Capabilities
With the Power Ring, a Lantern can generate any solid constructs of light-based energy that they can imagine, with the only limit being their own will and creativity. During Steppenwolf's attempted terraformation of Earth thousands of years ago, an unidentified Green Lantern used his ring to generate weapons to battle Parademons.[1] The ring also allows Lanterns to travel at high speeds by propelling them through space, even beyond planetary atmospheres and between space sectors. The ring, however, is only capable of being active for a finite amount of time and needs to be 'recharged' after expending large amounts of energy.
Being semi-sentient, each ring chooses its wielder in accordance with parameters set by the Guardians, and will fly off to find a new wielder in the event that their Lantern dies.[1]
